15yo 8th Grader Shot/Killed in Ambush ID'd; 4yo Girl Delco Tragic Shooting; Philly Street Sweeping

Philadelphia Police have identified the teenager who was shot and killed in an ambush while walking near school on Monday afternoon in North Philadelphia. It happened just before 2:45 p.m. on the 2200 block of North 15th Street. 15-year-old Juan Carlos Robles-Corona, an eighth grader at Dr. Tanner G. Duckrey Public School, was walking back to school when the shooters jumped out and opened fire. He was hit four times. Police nearby heard the gunfire and responded. Robles-Corona was taken to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead. Police believe he was targeted after an argument over the weekend. Robles-Corona's mother says he had left school early for an unknown reason and was heading back to pickup his brothers. Police say that 20 shots were fired. No weapon was recovered and no arrests have been made.

A 4-year-old girl has died after a tragic shooting outside a gas station convenience store in Delaware County on Tuesday morning, 4/5. It happened before 11 a.m. outside the Eagle Save Mart and Fuel on the 900 block of Kerlin Street in Chester. The victim was in a car with her sibling when it happened. She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Investigators are trying to determine whether the shot was self-inflicted or if she was shot by her sibling. Chester Police and the Delaware County District Attorneyâ€™s Office are investigating.

Philadelphia started Phase Two of its street cleaning program on Monday, April 4. The sweeping program has expanded to 14 neighborhoods that were identified as having the highest concentrations of trash. Street sweeping trucks (along with staff carrying brooms and backpack air blowers along some routes) will operate Mondays to Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. except holidays. This phase of the program will run through November 30. There will be signs posted along the cleaning routes and residents will have to move their cars from the streets during the posted times. Cars that aren't moved will get warnings during April, but tickets will be written starting in May. For more information go to:
