17yo Shoots Self in Head by Accident; Woman Dumped on Kensington Sidewalk; 73 Car Pileup on I-581

A 17-year-old boy was injured after he accidentally shot himself on Saturday afternoor, 3/12. It happened around 5 p.m. on the 300 block of E. Ashmead Street in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood. The boy was handling a gun when it went off and he was shot in the head. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. A 7-year-old girl injured her foot running out of the home. She was taken to Einstein in stable condition. Police recovered a weapon.

UPDATE: Police say that the 17-year-old has now died from his injuries. They also say that the teen's 9-year-old half-brother was the one that pulled the trigger and shot the teen.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after the body of a woman was dumped on a sidewalk early Saturday morning, 3/12. It happened around 3:30 a.m. on the 300 block of East Tusculum Street in Kensington. Surveillance video shows a red car, possibly a Nissan, parallel park. The passenger side door opened up and then quickly closed. The car then took off towards Kensington Ave. The body of an unresponsive woman in her 30s was left on the side of the road. The cause of death is not yet known. If you have any information, contact police at 215-686-TIPS.

Snow and high winds caused a multi-car pileup in Cumberland County in central Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon, 3/12. It happened around 2 p.m. on I-581 in Camp Hill. Pennsylvania State Troopers say that 73 vehicles were involved in the crash. No one was seriously injured. People were taken to the New Cumberland Borough Fire Department, which set up a warming center and reunification location. The crash was cleared in 4 hours. Snow squalls and wind gusts up to 40 mph caused reduce visibility at times on Saturday.
