Arrests have been made in connection to the brutal road rage assault caught on video in Jenkintown, Montgomery County, last Thursday, 12/16. 37-year-old Charles Woodson and 25-year-old September Wingfield, both of Holmesburg, were arrested on Wednesday morning, 12/22, at a home on the 8200 block of Frankford Avenue in Philadelphia. They are charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, and other charges. It happened around 10 a.m. near the intersection of Old York and Rydal roads. Cell phone video show the pair drag another woman from her car. They kicked and punched her until she was left unconscious. The suspects made off in a black truck that did not have a license plate. Tips from the public helped lead to their arrest.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni tested positive for coronavirus COVID-19 on Wednesday, 12/22. He has entered the NFL COVID protocol. Sirianni says he plans to attend all team meetings this week virtually. "I wasn't feeling great this morning when I woke up and just got tested, and obviously we are where we are right now," Sirianni said at a news conference. "The rest of the week I'll be in every meeting, obviously virtually." The team has a backup plans for coaching duties in Sirianni is still out for Sunday's, 12/26, game against the NY Giants. Passing game coordinator Kevin Patullo would take over typical head coaching in-game decisions with assistance from running backs coach Jemal Singleton. Patullo would be responsible for making calls on fourth down and challenges.

Temple University announced that it will go back to virtual learning for the first three weeks of the Spring 2022 semester due to rising COVID-19 cases caused by the omicron variant. Classes from Monday, January 3 to Friday, January 21 will be conducted online. The school will reevaluate as conditions change over the next month. "An assessment of the situation will be made during this period to determine the best course moving forward and will be driven by the requirements of the city of Philadelphia and the data and public health guidance available at the time," Temple President Dr. Jason Wingard wrote.
