A teenager turned himself in to Philadelphia Police on Wednesday, 12/1, wanted for shooting a Temple University student on Sunday afternoon, 11/28. 17-year-old Latif Williams surrendered voluntarily with his attorneys after learning of the warrant for his arrest. Wiliams is charged with murder and robbery in the death of 21-year-old Samuel Sean Collington of Prospect Park, Delaware County. Collington had just returned to his off-campus apartment on the 2200 block of North Park Avenue following the Thanksgiving break. He was unloading his car when he was approached the armed robber. A struggle ensued and Collington was shot twice. He died a short time later at Temple University Hospital. Williams previously faced carjacking charges this past summer, but charges were withdrawn when a key witness did not show.

Two men have been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a teenager at a bus stop in Feltonville on Monday afternoon, 11/29. 21-year-olds Quadir Johnson and Kyair Garnett are charged with murder, conspiracy, violation of the uniform firearms act, possession of an instrument of crime, reckless endangerment, tampering with evidence and other related offenses in the death of 14-year-old Samir Jefferson. It happened at 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Rising Sun and Wyoming Aves. Samir was waiting for the bus when the gunmen got out of a vehicle. He fled as they chased after him shooting. He was hit 18 times. Police say they found at least 35 spent shell casings. The men fled in a vehicle. Police stopped a vehicle matching the description a short time later and took two persons-of-interest into custody. Police say that they are working on warrants for three additional suspects. The motive behind the attack is not yet known.

A man was taken into custody early Thursday morning, 12/2, after killing a woman, shooting a person, and engaging in a shootout with police. It started around 3:30 a.m. at 7022 Terminal Square in Upper Darby. The suspect and a woman were engaged in a domestic dispute in an apartment. The suspect ended up shooting and killing the woman. He then ran outside and began shooting in the air. He managed to shoot a passerby in the shoulder. That man suffered non life-threatening injuries. SEPTA police heard the gun shots and confronted the man near the 69th Street pedestrian bridge. Officers and the suspects exchanged gunfire. No one was hit.
