5 Stowaways Detained at PA Port; 4 Woman Stabbed in Olney; Shooting in Marriot Parking Lot

Five stowaways were detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents after they were discovered on a container ship in port in Delaware County. It happened on Monday afternoon, 7/26, at Penn Terminals in Eddystone, PA. Officials were searching the AS PETRA sailing under the Liberian flag. When agents encountered the stowaways, the men jumped into the water and swam to shore in an attempt to getaway. They were caught and given medical attention. One man had a leg injury and all were dehydrated. No other information is available such as where they men came from and how long they've been on the boat.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after four women were stabbed and another was hit with a baseball bat in North Philadelphia on Monday night, 7/26. It happened around 8:30 p.m. on the 5800 block of Marshal Street near Nedro Ave. Police responded to the report of a large fight. They found a pregnant woman in her 20s with stab wounds to her hand. A 20-year-old woman had been hit in the head with a bat. They were both taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition. Later on, three more women arrived at Einstein with stab wounds. One had been stabbed in the back and another was stabbed in the chest. They were placed in stable condition. The third was stabbed in the neck and was in critical condition. So far there haven't been any arrests. No weapons have been recovered. If you have any information, call police at 215-686-TIPS.

Philadelphia Police are investigating a shooting in the parking lot of a hotel in the Wynnefield Heights neighborhood. It happened around 9 p.m. at the Courtyard by Marriott on the 4100 block of Presidential Avenue. A 35-year-old man was shot in the arm. He is recovering in the hospital. Police describe this as a domestic-related incident. The victim went to the hotel to confront a woman he was in a relationship with, but got into an altercation with another man who may also be in a relationship with the woman. Police believe the other man is the shooter. No arrests have been made.
