HoagieNation Returns at The Mann 8/7; Laura Jane Grace at FS Total Landscaping; Heinz Hot Dog Pact

HoagieNation returns for 2021 at The Mann in Fairmount Park on August 7 at 4:00 p.m. Last year's show was canceled due to the pandemic. This year's lineup includes festival presenters Daryl Hall & John Oates, Squeeze, Kool & The Gang, The Wailers, Craig Robinson & The Nasty Delicious, The Soul Survivors, and Down North! There will be two stages of music - The Presser Foundation Stage at TD Pavilion at the Mann & the Skyline Stage. Free hoagie tastings from Real Philly Delis will be provided as part of "Hoagie Happy Hour" presented by Dietz & Watson at the Hoagie Pavilion. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Philabundance and the Mann's Education Program. If you purchased a ticket to last year's event, it will be valid for this year's concert.

Punk rocker Laura Jane Grace will be playing a concert at Four Seasons Total Landscaping in Northeast Philadelphia this August. The show sold out in 17 minutes! It will also feature singer Brendan Kelly. The location was made infamous last November 2020 when President Trump's campaign held an unexpected press conference at the location. A mixup led to Rudy Giuliani and others speaking in front of the garage door in a parking lot, instead of the Center City Four Seasons hotel. It was noted that the business' Holmesburg location was near a sex shop and a crematorium. The press conference was on Saturday, November 7.

Heinz has launched a campaign to bring awareness to a long questioned disparity in the hot dog world. Why are there 10 hot dogs but only 8 rolls per package? They are calling on everyone to sign the Heinz Hot Dog Pact to bring a consensus in package size.

Over the 4th of July grilling weekend, I uncovered a startling issue that needs addressing. Hot dogs buns come in packages of 8, while the wieners arrive in packs of 10.
