The Pennsylvania Game Commission and Perkasie Police in Bucks County are warning residents after several sightings of bears. The first sighting on Ridge Road on Tuesday night, 6/15, reported two bears. Subsequent sightings have only reported one bear. Most of the sightings have been between Guth Elementary School and Blooming Glen Road. Early Wednesday morning, 6/16, police responded to an accident on Ridge Road near Branch Valley Fish and Game. A driver hit a small bear that then ran off. The animal may have been injured. It is normal for young bears to explore new territory this time of year after being kicked out of their mothers' den. If you see a bear, do not approach it, do not feed it, and do not harass it.

FBI agents shot and killed a Philadelphia kidnapping suspect during a confrontation at a North Jersey apartment early Wednesday morning, 6/16. It happened around 3:45 a.m. at the Lakeview Apartments in Leonia, Bergen County. FBI agents from the Newark and Philadelphia field offices surrounded building. They announced their presence and told the suspect to come out. No one emerged. That's when gunshots rang out. The suspect was killed. Authorities say that the kidnapping victim was recovered safely and there are no threats to the community. No other details were made available.

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom announced that it will be cutting back its summer hours due to a shortage of workers. The amusement park will only be open Wednesday-Sunday and will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. "While we are aggressively recruiting and adding new staff daily, we must adjust our operating calendar based on workforce availability," the park said in a statement. "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and support as we work through these challenges. We will continuously monitor our progress and will add more opportunities for fun as workforce improvements allow."
