Between 1957 and 1964 Dick Clark hosted Bandstand at the West Philadelphia studios of WFIL-TV, at 46th and Market. On Saturday between noon and 3 the current owners (Enterprise Center) of the nondescript building will open Studio B for those wishing to take a tour. It's fairly well preserved, they say, since establishing an endowment to maintain the Historical Landmark. A $20 contribution to the endowment is being asked for admission.

Arrest warrants have been issued for a man and woman in the serious brick beating of a Center City parking lot attendant on April 4. Wanted are Ronald Moore, 37, of the 6300 block of Reedland Street, Southwest Philadelphia, and Tamika Wilkins, 36, of the 5500 block of Catherine Street, West Philadelphia. Police allege that Moore, accompanied by Wilkins, beat Asrat Mamo, 30, in the parking lot at 13th and Locust Streets. Surveillance video shows Mamo just sitting outside his booth shortly before 8 p.m. when a woman walked up and talked to him for seven minutes. A second woman then approached him with a man, but they only initially stayed briefly and left. Just moments later, the man returned and hit Mamo in the side of the head with a brick. Police said the pair fled with $100 cash. The other woman remain unidentified and is sought as a person of interest. There is a $10,000 reward attached to this case.

Tomorrow is Record Store Day. This is the one day that all of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music. Many artists issue one day only releases, and stores are hosting special events and performances. Be sure to check out your local record store, and support the independent businesses.
