The director of a Philadelphia non-profit is back home after being held in South America after testing positive for coronavirus COVID-19. Brian Jenkins is Executive Director of Chosen 300 Ministries which provides services for the homeless and hungry. Chosen 300 also has missions in other parts of the world. Jenkins had tested positive in Philadelphia for COVID-19 in early December and was asymptomatic. He later tested negative twice before he left for Guyana, South America, for one of his missions in early January. However, when he arrived in Guyana, he tested positive again and was forced to go to a COVID hospital he called 'COVID jail.' He was there for 10 days, but could have been held for 2 months. With the help of US lawmakers including Sen. Bob Casey and a negative test, Jenkins was released from the hospital and flew back to the US.

A young teen was shot and injured in West Philadelphia on Monday evening, 1/18. It happened around 7 p.m. near a basketball court at the intersection of 57th Street and Haverford Avenue. The 13-year-old boy was shot in the left foot. He was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in stable condition. Anyone with any information should call police at 215-686-TIPS.

Residents of Monroe County, PA are being told to shelter in place on Monday night, 1/18, after a series of shootings. The warning goes out to those living on the 196 corridor between Pocono Country Place and Pocono Farms East. Mount Pocono Borough Mayor Michael Penn reported several shootings at "A Pocono Country Place, at the Dollar General store in Tobyhanna, at Stoogies on Route 196, and at multiple locations." Penn says there are 4 known victims at 4 or 5 locations. "Please consider this a developing community safety danger."
