Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf approved a plan by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board to reopen 106 of the state's 600 liquor stores to help with online fulfillment from the state-run web store. Workers will be returning to those state stores to help process orders from www.finewineandgoodspirits.com. The stores themselves will not be open to the public for retail sales. The online store has been swamped with demand since it reopened and began taking orders on 4/1. If you try and visit the site you may be greeted with a notice that the site is overwhelmed at the moment, try again later. The PLCB hopes by adding the additional workers to process orders they'll be able to keep up with the demand.

A man claims he was acting in self defense when he shot three teenagers while riding a SEPTA bus in Northeast Philadelphia early Thursday morning, 4/16. It happened around 1 a.m. on the Route 58 bus on Bustleton Avenue near St. Vincent Street. The 24-year-old man told police he was sitting in the back of the bus when he was approached and attacked by the three teens. He pulled out his gun and fired three shots, hitting each boy in the legs. The 16-year-old, 17-year-old, and 15-year-old boys were taken to the hospital in stable condition. The man was taken to Northeast Detective Division for questioning. He does have a concealed carry permit. Police are also questioning a few witnesses on the bus and looking at surveillance video from SEPTA. No charges have been filed.

A mother and her daughter were discovered dead inside their Springfield, Delaware County, home on Wednesday morning during a welfare check. It happened at 9 a.m. on the 100 block of School Lane. Police were met outside by a relative. The 10-year-old girl and her 37-year-old mother were found on the living room floor. Their causes of death are not known at this time. The Delaware County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy. The girl was in fifth grade at Scenic Hills Elementary School.

"The Springfield School District is heartbroken to learn of the recent passing of one of our fifth-grade Scenic students and her mother. As a caring community, our thoughts and support are with their extended family and friends during this tragic time.

Due to the unique situation of the Governor's Shelter in Place orders, the Springfield School District is working collaboratively with various agencies in an effort to provide support to our Scenic staff and students. More detailed information will be provided to our staff and students as it becomes available.

At this juncture, we are not permitted to share any other details due to the on-going investigation. But rest assured, the district will continue to be supportive of our community."
