Minors Charged, Skull Breaker Challenge; Chris Matthews Abruptly Resigns; Former Temple Player Shot

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office have charged two minors after the viral 'skull breaker' challenge left a third minor with a concussion. The Cherry Hill middle school students are charged with third-degree aggravated assault and third-degree endangering an injured victim. The 'skull breaker' challenge involves two people tricking another person to jump in the air at which time the other two knock the person's feet out from under them causing the person to fall. In this incident from one month ago, the 13-year-old boy fell and stuck his head. He was taken to the hospital for a concussion. He is still experiencing symptoms and is on academic restriction. He'll start physical therapy next week. Parents and doctors are warning to think twice before participating on any 'challenge' on TikTok or Instagram.

Chris Matthews, longtime nightly talk shot host of MSNBC's Hardball program, announced on-air Monday night, 3/2, that he was retiring from the network and stepping down from the show. Matthews has been the subject of controversy over the years, but several recent incidents seem to have driven this decision. In February, Matthews compared Senator Bernie Sanders win in the Nevada Caucus to Nazi Germany invading France in World War II. On Friday, GQ journalist Laura Bassett published an op ed outlining various sexist behaviors that Matthews allegedly committed over the years. She also recounted a 2016 incident where he told her in the makeup room of the show before she appeared as a guest, 'Why havenâ€™t I fallen in love with you yet?' Matthews, 74, was born in Philadelphia. He attended La Salle College High School.

A former Temple University football player was shot and killed early Monday morning, 3/2, just blocks from campus. It happened around 4 a.m. on the on the 1800 block of W. Montgomery Ave. 25-year-old Zaire Williams was shot in the head. He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was a running back for the Owls in 2013 and 2014. Apparently, a confrontation at Johnny Walker Bar at 10th and Race Streets made its way back to Montgomery Ave. That is where a fistfight broke out. A suspect then opened fire. Police recovered a weapon and a suspect has been identified.
