The Philadelphia Music & Arts Festival (PHL Music Fest) is happening this week September 25-28. Now in it's third year, the lineup is by design all Philly artists/bands and includes Man Man, Ali Awan, RFA, Foxtrot and the Get Down, Arnetta Johnson, Speedy Ortiz, Secret American, Ceramic Animal, Vacationer, Sun Ra Orchestra, Ill Fated Natives, and more.
iradiophilly will be broadcasting/streaming all of the performances LIVE. For more information about the broadcast and to listen: http://www.iradiophilly.com/phlmusicfest
The festival aims to be a "testament and celebration of the exploding music scene in Philadelphia and a showcase of up and coming artists." Philadelphia has once again become a rich, diverse, and inspiring music community reminiscent of the previous golden eras. Any music scene is a two way street and can only be as good as the support from the fans. The Philadelphia Music & Arts Festival is a non-profit endeavor - founded, produced and curated by Greg Seltzer. "Our mission is to encourage the citizens of Philadelphia to SUPPORT YOUR SCENE."
As a non-profit organization, Philly Music Fest supports local musicians, local independent venues, and local music education programs. Last year's show featured artists like The Districts, Low Cut Connie, Vita and the Woolf, Waxahatchee, Hardwork Movement, Pissed Jeans, and more playing at Johnny Brenda's, World Cafe Live, and Milkboy. In 2017, after paying the artists to perform, Philly Music Fest donated $15,000 to local music education programs like Settlement Music School, Rock to the Future, Live Connections, Musicopia, Jazz House Kids, Girls Rock Philly, and Play On, Philly. In 2018, Philly Music Fest donated $25,000.
In addition to the tremendous music lineup, the festival will include local food, beer, and arts. All of the taps will be pouring beer from local breweries and featuring spirits from the local craft distillery scene. Local artists will be exhibiting their work.
Set your calendars for this Wednesday, September 25th through Saturday, September 28th for the 3rd annual Philadelphia Music & Arts Festival. Come out and SUPPORT YOUR SCENE.
A few tickets are still available for Wednesday. Weekend and single days passes are available for Friday and Saturday at World Cafe Live. For more information on tickets go to: https://phlmusicfest.com#tickets
