Phillies top pitching prospect Matt Imhof has now decided to retire from baseball after he lost his right eye in a freak accident during training. The accident happened during the 2016 season with the Clearwater Thrashers when he was taking part in a stretching exercise using resistance bands. A piece of metal broke free from the wall and hit him in the face. The metal fractured his nose, which broke two orbital bones damaging his eye. Doctors at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute stated that his eye was beyond repair, so they removed it and replaced it with a prosthetic. Imhof stated about his retirement, "I still love the game of baseball and I'm proud of everything I accomplished in the game, it's opened doors for me I never thought I'd walk through. It's allowed me to represent my country on the biggest stage, and it's given me a platform to effect positive change in the lives of those less fortunate than myself. I am blessed that I was able to play this game for 18 years and will never forget the lessons it taught me along the way. I have never doubted my ability to be successful in life and I don't plan on starting now; whether it's a baseball field or a boardroom, I know my future is bright. With that in mind, I would like to announce my retirement from the game of baseball."

Phillies top shortstop prospect J.P. Crawford has now been ranked number 4 short stop in the 2017 season by MLBPipeline.com. Crawford struggled a little bit last season while he played for the Double-A Reading Phillies, as well as the Triple-A Iron Pigs, hitting only .250/.349/.339 in 123 games, with 19 doubles, 7 home-runs and 43 RBI's. Crawford gained an above average score of 60 and a fielding score of 65 both out of 80. Crawford now joins catcher Jorge Alfaro, first baseman Rhys Hoskins, and second baseman Scott Kinergy as prospects ranked in the top-10 of their positions. The Phillies have stated that they have invited Crawford to join them in Spring Training this year.

Villanova lost for the second time this season on Tuesday night against Marquette 72-74. The Wildcats seemed to have the game under control Tuesday evening at the Bradley Center in Milwaukee as they went into the second half with a 17 point lead over Marquette. The win came from Marquette's Katin Reinhardt who made two free-throws with 11.6 seconds left putting Marquette two points over Villanova. The Wildcats had a chance to tie it up and move into overtime, but Sophomore Jalen Brunson missed a buzzer beater lay-up. Next up the Wildcats take on Virginia this Sunday.
