Streaming radio is truly a new frontier. Where else can "free-form" programming survive?
Veteran Philadelphia radio personality, Michael Tearson will deliver the 150th installment of "Michael Tearson's Marconi Experiment" this weekend on streaming radio platform iRadioPhilly. Unheard of in today's big business models on FM radio, Tearson has been given a blank canvas to create music programs themed, or not, at his discretion.
Tearson has done shows themed around holidays, events, individual artists and anniversaries - each featuring music selections that are "not the usual suspects" as Michael likes to say.
Michael Tearson comments, "From the start, the Marconi Experiment project has been tremendous fun and always an hour of radio that sounds like nothing else anyone is doing. I am just getting warmed up. Watch carefully for an announcement of more to come!"
Spend some time listening to Michael Tearson and you quickly understand that he is not your typical DJ. Tearson has been entrenched in the world of music since the 1960's and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and industry relationships. Michael shares pieces of that history with anyone who comes along for the ride.
iRadioPhilly encourages Tearson to push the boundaries. He will continue to do so as he approaches his fourth year on iRadioPhilly. Always creating, Tearson has been developing a new concept for a show. And the only thing predictable is that the new show will be unpredictable.
Michael Tearson's Marconi Experiment airs weekly on iRadioPhilly at 8 am Saturday's on Classic Rock channel "Ziggy", and Sunday's at 6 pm on Adult Alternative channel "Libra". Weekly programs are also available for on-demand listening for one week after they air on the Podcast page at iRadioPhilly.com
