Phillies Reach 90 Wins Despite Rain; Tickets Can Still Be Exchanged

The game may have started just under 2 hours late and only a few later innings saw the rain let up to a mist, but the Phillies keep proving they are deserving of the league leading 90-48 record. It was a minor miracle that a window opened up long enough and early enough that baseball could be played last night at a reasonable hour with drenching rains covering the area before and after, but Rookie of the Year candidate Vance Worley improved his record to 11-1 and the Phillies stretched their lead over the Braves to 9 1/2 games in the NL East. It was the 14th straight game they have won with Worley starting. He has pitched great, but it helps when you have a tremendous defense behind you and production from the guys at the plate scoring runs. Tonight 6 runs were plenty.

With no off days and two double headers already scheduled, sometimes you just have to get the game in anyway you can. Tonight's game may also see rain, but the showers and thunderstorms are expected to be more scattered and less steady.

Technically the game is considered a sell out of 44,781, however there was nowhere near that in actual attendance. Although I can say that the Marlins might have been jealous of the actual numbers of people who were in Citizens Bank Park last night.

Because of the weather, the Phillies did announce that tickets for last night can be exchanged for one of six games next year. Those games include the Pavilion, Pavilion Deck or Terrace Deck seating areas for the On Deck Series Games against the Pirates on April 2 or 3, or any of the four Monday home games between April 30 and May 21.
