1969---The Atlantic City Pop Festival opens and runs for three days. It is the 1st of this type of event in the Philadelphia-NYC area. There are over 35 great acts performing and over 110,000 in attendence. Tickets start at $6.00 for one day and $15.00 for a three day pass. There are over 35 great acts including: The Byrds, Canned Heat, Chicago, Joe Cocker, CCR, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, BB King, Little Richard, Joni Mitchell, Procol Harum, Santana, Three Dog Night and The Sir Douglas Quintet. The Moody Blues and Crosby, Stills and Nash were scheduled to appear, were on either the poster or tee-shirt, but did not show.

Today---Get On Up, the James Brown biopic opens in theaters. The film is produced by Mick Jagger.
