Summer festival season is approaching in full swing with the Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival hosted all day in Elmer, New Jersey on June 1st. Starting at 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival is an anticipated event for many and considered one of the best festivals in New Jersey. Boasting a stacked lineup of contemporary folk and acoustic blues musicians, there is something for everyone at this prestigious event. Performers include: Caravan of Thieves, Delta Rae, Delta Spirit, Brandi Carlile and many more.
The gypsy jazz, folk rock, and energetic stage performance of Caravan of Thieves will surely illuminate the scene with their theatrical persona known to dazzle audiences in waves of intrigue. If you like Alabama Shakes, Mumford & Sons, or Bonnie Raitt, Caravan of Thieves will enlighten and amaze. The alternative-pop rock of Delta Rae has been honored and praised since 2009, leading to the release of their debut album Carry the Fire last June. Powerful singing is highlighted with four lead singers, the total ensemble of Delta Rae clocks in at an impressive six members. If you like The Lumineers or Josh Ritter, Delta Rae will delight. Brandi Carlile has been a prolific member alternative country and folk rock since 2006 with her outstanding songwriting ability. Her latest album Bear Creek reached the #1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Folk Album chart. If you like The Avett Brothers, Ingrid Michaelson, and Dawes, Brandi Carlile will amaze. Brooklyn, New York's Delta Spirit has been making original, creative, and ingenious indie rock since 2006. Highly acclaimed self-titled 2012 release Delta Spirit reached the #1 spot on the U.S. Billboard Heatseekers chart. Known for their incredibly animated and active live performances, Delta Spirit is not to be missed. If you like Dawes, Good Old War, and Tame Impala, Delta Spirit will intrigue and astonish.
The Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival takes place on their great 176-acre home in southern New Jersey, just 40 minutes from Philadelphia. Transportation is available, a chartered bus will be offered riding from Fergie's Pub, 1214 Sansom Street in Philadelphia. The festival includes a joyful Crafts Fair showcasing original hand-made work of over 50 artists. Other booths set-up include Discover Jersey Arts, Tri-State Indie, and Bank of America.
Additionally the Salem County Cycling Trip will be leaving the Appel Farm Arts & Music Festival parking lot at 9:00 a.m. touring the beautiful countryside of South Jersey. Entry level riders are welcome, enjoy a gently rolling route throughout the flat plains.
Featured at The Appel Farms Arts & Music Festival are micro-brew specialty beers and award-winning local wine from Flying Fish Brewing Company and Auburn Road Vineyards at the Festival Beer & Wine tent. Food is also available for purchase including vegetarian, ethnic and traditional outdoors festival food.
For the kids there is Children's Village, featuring magicians, performances of puppet theatre, jugglers, and many story tellers. There will also be plenty free arts and crafts for children.
The Appel Farms Arts & Music Festival features music, food, entertainment, crafts and much more. Proven to be one of the highly anticipated festivals in New Jersey, this year features a star-studded lineup and many sought-after events. Join the fun and excitement this Saturday, June 1st.
