New Releases / Upcoming BRE Presents Shows: Patty Griffin, Joe Satriani, Straight No Chaser

Check out these new albums releases for Tuesday, May 7th. Patty Griffin, Joe Satriani and Straight No Chaser each are releasing new albums today and they are all coming to the area to play shows in the coming future.

Patty Griffin, married to Robert Plant, is putting out her eighth studio album and first of new material in six years. American Kid was produced by Craig Ross and recorded with North Mississippi Allstars brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson at their father's studio outside of Memphis. Griffin went for a gritty, raw sound on an albums comprised of songs written after he father passed in 2009. The Americana and folk singer will be touring this spring and summer. You can catch her at the Kimmel Center on June 6.

Unstoppable Momentum is the latest album from Joe Satriani. Satriani has toured and played with Mick Jagger, Deep Purple, G3, Sammy Hagar and now plays Chickenfoot. This is Satriani's 14th studio album for the guitar virtuoso. It also features Vinnie Colauita (Sting, Jeff Beck) on drums, Chris Chaney (Janes Addiction) on bass and on keyboards, Mike Keneally (Dethklok). He'll be coming to town on September 28th at the Tower Theatre.

Acclaimed a cappella group, Straight No Chaser, is releasing their highly anticipated latest album Under The Influence today. The album contains 11 tracks of melodies, harmonies, and vocal rhythms of some of the best pop songs. Joining Straight No Chaser on a cappella renditions of their own songs are stars like Sara Bareilles, Jason Mraz, Stevie Wonder, Phil Collins, Dolly Parton, and Elton John. You can catch Straight No Chaser live at the TD Bank Arts Center May 11.
