A woman accused of sending a letter containing the deadly poison ricin to President Trump at the White House was arrested on Sunday, 9/20, trying to enter the United States at the New York-Canada border. The unidentified woman was taken into custody by U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Peace Bridge border crossing near Buffalo. She'll face several federal charges. The envelope had been intercepted last week at a government facility that screens mail addressed to the White House and President Donald Trump. It tested positive for ricin, a poison found naturally in castor beans. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Secret Service were investigating the source of the letter along with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). They believed it was sent from Canada. They have not revealed how they identified the suspect. The identity of the woman has not been released. There is no antidote for ricin poisoning. This is not the first time someone tried to send ricin to top U.S. officials.

One man is dead and another is injured after a shooting in a New Jersey motorcycle clubhouse early Sunday morning. It happened around 1:45 a.m. at the Wheels of Soul clubhouse in Camden. 38-year-old Jermaine Wilkes of Philadelphia was found shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was also shot multiple times. He was transported to the hospital in critical condition. It is not known how many people were at the clubhouse at the time of the shooting. The motive is under investigation.

Philadelphia will be opening up 46 new access centers across the city. These access centers are for parents who cannot afford childcare but need to work and can't leave school-age children unsupervised. Parents can drop their kids off at the center for the school day. Children will be supervised and will be able to participate in their virtual learning. Students will be fed a meal and have other activities. Parents have to qualify and must register before they can bring the child to a center. The program is free and centers are located throughout the city. It is for kindergarten through sixth grade.
